So it's true Simpson are not the same they once were.
But they still get off a good gag or joke here and there that either makes me laugh or in some cases...inspires me.
Hence this couch gag from only a few years ago:

I dunno why but this gag's version of Homer Simpson (and Ned Flanders come to think of it) is one of my favorite alternate versions of the character.
It's so exaggerated, retro and GTA-inspired (Vice City specifically) that it's awesome.
They even gave his couch a personality. That may seem weird but Homer always treated that couch as if it were a real person.....along with his TV.
I woulda drew the couch's arms holding guns too. But guns are harder to draw repeatedly in the same panel. (Huge not to self...get book on drawing guns from different angles.)
Besides Homer is the central figure here. Trying to give the couch arms and guns woulda been "pushing it to the limit."
