Doghouse of Horror IX

Hello everyone!

Once again we had a little delay this year with Doghouse of Horror.

I just finished Inktober and was working on it realizing how much bigger it was adding all sorts of characters in it to convey each story.

Before we begin though why not check out some previous Doghouse of Horrors of mine?

Now for the title placard forgive me if this seems in a bit of poor taste since this wretched year hasn't quite ended yet. Well there will be a day where we can look back at it and be glad it's all over. But The Lady is playing '2020: The Movie' which is scaring the heck out of the audience consisting of Dudley, Snaptrap, Keswick and Kitty Katswell.

Look we all can generally agree 2020 was a brutal year. Just the mere mention of the number will be enough to make people's blood run cold as we will soon enter 2021.

And on that I will say no more. Really...I don't wanna jinx anything.

But onto the first story.

Like in Doghouse of Horror 5 I made this one semi-political. Petsylvania has decided that after living under the rule of Lady Malmsteen for over 400 years they think it's high time to get a democracy going. The only trouble is no one is willing to rule in Lady Malmsteen's place. So Kitty Katswell happens to show up to foil another one of Lady Malmsteen's plans. The residents instead grab her and force her to be the opposing candidate. Kitty has no choice unfortunately and tries everything to sabotage her own campaign. But it doesn't work out as she wins easily and is placed on the throne as Petsylvania's new ruler. As you might expect her being something of a "normie" running a place full of ghosts, ghouls and the undead is anything but easy for her.

I gave Kitty a slightly modified black dress that is cat shaped as opposed to Lady Malmsteen's bat shaped dressed. I should draw these two and compare their outfits sometime.

The title is a plan-on word version of 'Castlevania.' And Castlevania was indeed the main inspiration for Petsylvania and Lady Malmsteen. So it's only fitting the story was about such a place.

The zombie's sign reads 'Kitty 4 Ever' even though he crossed out 'Brains.' Zombies....AKA Voters amiright? XD

Now the second story is a bit of a creative spur of the moment story which I kinda had planned earlier in September. I took the art styles of various artists to draw them in the style of the characters here.

For Snaptrap I drew him in 's style

Dudley Puppy I drew in 's style

Kitty Katswell I drew in 's style

And Keswick I drew in 's style.

The title is based off the movie 'Reanimator.' Only instead of bringing back dead bodies it's about Re-Animating a TUFF Puppy episode in different art styles as part of an experiment gone horribly wrong by Keswick....again.

There's a lot of potential with this story for all sorts of mayhem. And of course the idea came about from the many Re-Animated projects I find on YouTube...some of which I participated in. X3

Use your imagination on how this whole thing could potentially play out. The possibilities are endless.

The final story involves FLOPP: mainly The Escape Goat, Meerkat and the Wannabee. I believe they were searching through the dump looking for things they could make to try and become diabolical. (And of course failing.) The Escape Goat manages to find a book and reads out three words that opens a portal to another dimension full of goblins. Of course not knowing what happened (and being a goat) he just eats the book. Now a bunch of horrible smelly goblins are loose and are making life miserable for both good and bad guys. The Meerkat is trying to have Escape Goat remember the words he said but of course Escape Goat forgets. Even though if you read the quote they should be  fairly simple to remember.

The title is another video game-punned title like I did with Castlevania. Only this time it's for Capcom's 'Ghosts N' Goblins.' The goblins designs were fun. I had the Gnorcs from Spyro and the many different Goblin puppets from Labyritnh in mind while creating them all. I dunno why but seeing the Meerkat yelling at an embarrassed Escape Goat is pretty funny to me. XD Hey I need a laugh during this time.

And I hope you all enjoyed this too. As usual these take some time to make but are totally worth it in the end. ;D
