Day 8 of Inktober is here as I continue the marathon inking experience.
The prompts are fond here and I was given some interesting suggestions lately.
One suggestion I was given was to draw Binky the Clown from the Garfield cartoon. I dunno if Binky is in the newer cartoons but I do remember him from the classic Lorenzo Music cartoons. (Boy did I love those growing up as a kid.)
I remember there was a recurring character that was indeed Binky the Clown. This was a clown Garfield really couldn't stand: for obvious reasons.
Now he likes him even less for ominous reasons.
For the word of the day 'Watch' I was thinking of Binky reenacting the introduction of Pennywise the Clown from Steven King's IT where he watches from the sewers. It is the Halloween season after all. And what's Halloween without referencing a horror pop icon? Pennywise probably is one of Steven King's most famous creations. (Next to Jack Torrance of course.)
So here I have Binky in the role of Pennywise. (Of course if you look too deep into it he's really now a shape-shifting entity that feeds off fear.)
Garfield wearing one of his many outfits throughout his adventures (a raincoat in this case) seems to be acting the part of Georgie with his paper boat and everything.
Of course Garfield despite being lazy is also more mentally alert than a typical child. So he's probably not gonna fall for this....in particular because he doesn't like Binky a lot to begin with.
This parody could lead to some pretty interesting situations. Maybe Odie gets kidnapped (or Nermil) by Binky and Garfield has to reluctantly save them.
Yeah like I'm gonna make something like this. This is definitely a one off. But good fun. XD
