Lola de Chocobo

I am now the ripe age of 30. Thirty years of being on this planet; and still going for as long as I can keep it going for.

How to celebrate a milestone age.....hmmm.....

Perhaps I need to look back at a game that forever changed my perspective on how a game is presented, how it tells its story, and how it strengthens the motivations and dilemmas of a character.
And it looked to be a Final Fantasy game. The very first I played was Final Fantasy VII.

Despite all the hate it gets; I still regard it as the game that made me understand how much power a JRPG has when it comes to a story and a character. And how stylish and well designed a villain needs to be to make an impact. And Final Fantasy VII did just that.
Of course over the years I have played the other titles. And while comparing this to the other ones; I still like it. People often criticize the immense popularity it got over other great FF titles like 'IV' and VI'; which for us Americans was released as 'II' and 'III' on the SNES.
But you must remember; the SNES was still marketed towards kids and teens. The Playstation was marketed to a wider audience so....it's no wonder more people discovered Final Fantasy VII as their intro to the series. Just leave it to them to play the earlier titles and how it was indeed a big departure from the series' traditions:
Materia systems that discarded job classes; more foul language and romance sub plots; and huge emphasis on fully rendered FMVs to move the story along.

Well whether you loved it or hated it; it was a game changer.

So to commemorate the game that made a huge impact on me; I decided to put some of my own anthropomorphic Fuzz characters in respective roles related to the characters of the game. Not all are present; just the one to make it funny. And the ones who fit the roles perfectly.

Needless to say; I Chris Fuzz am Cloud Strife. XD Yes; put me in main character status. It's my birthday; and I'll dress who I wanna dress as. ;D
As well as the other characters too. Like my redheaded athletic kitty Ruth Campbell dressed as the buxom Tifa Lockhart. And on the other end; the child of the earth Valerie Quinn dressed as the flower girl Aerith Gainsborough. You know for the longest time I DID call her Aeris...but now I do officially call her Aerith like she was originally intended to be. ;)

And dressed as the Chocobo is none other than loopy and loony Lola Henderson. Exactly how she talked all three of them to ride her is beyond me. How she manages to lift and run with all three of them is also the subject for debate. I think her costume helps in a tremendous way.
But while it's no problem for Lola despite having three people on her back; it's a bumpy ride for Chris, Ruth and Val. And I don't think she knows where's she's heading too. She's running a lot faster than you think. I think she put on a 'Gold Chocobo' outfit; since she can run insanely fast regardless of what's on her back. XD

Running to keep up with them is my panda girl diva Xu Chan; dressed as spunky ninja girl Yuffie Karasagi. And on her left is the pudgy Brian Harker; dressed as the Captain Pottymouth himself; Cid Highwind. He even has a fully lit cig and a curse word floating above him. XD Truly keeping to character.

No particular scenario on why they're dressed as these characters. Just something I did to commemorate my 30th birthday and how I plan to move forward. ;D
And when it comes to games that left their biggest impressions...it really was Final Fantasy VII. However; my favorite game of all time is still 'Castlevania Symphony of the Night.'

Chris Fuzz, Ruth Campbell, Lola Henderson, Valerie Quinn, Xu Chan and Brian Harker belong to me :iconshinragod:
