Sly and Carmelita PSX Heroes

This is a Halloween themed piece I have had in my mind for a while and eventually decided to do for the contest.

Sly Cooper and Carmelita Fox are Sony characters who originated from the Playstation2. Prior to Playstation2 of course was the original PlayStation: the console that bore some of the best and most influential games I ever played.

To commemorate these gems and my love for Sly Cooper; I've selected three of my favorite PSX titles and had Sly and Carmelita dressed as the respective protagonists from each game. Though one of these choices is a substitute for another favorite game of mine; I'll get to that in a minute.

The first is dedicated to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night; and is perhaps the most Halloween themed pic on this list. Symphony of the Night has gone down as my all-time favorite game. So naturally I had this as my first choice to dress Sly Cooper up as Alucard and Carmelita Fox as Maria Renard. Sly and Alucard are both smooth looking in their own right; so one Sly donned the Alucard outfit and wig he certainly felt "handsome" enough to make his move on Carmelita inviting her "inside" his cape. The elegantly dressed Carmelita of course is not so easily won over. Such is her "hard to get" nature.

And in the second scenario, she's not as willing either. From Final Fantasy IX I had Sly dressed as Zidane Tribal and Carmelita as Princess Garnet Alexandros. (Wit ha moogle looking up at them no less.) I guess Sly here is trying to get Carmelita to "Be His Canary." Now originally my favorite Final Fantasy game on the PlayStation was Final Fantasy VII. I was slating Sly to be Cloud Strife and Carmelita to be Tifa Lockhart. (I drew Carmelita as Tifa at one point.) But I think ultimately Sly's role was more suited for Zidane Tribal: both are thieves and consider themselves lady's men. Cloud's overall personality doesn't fit Sly's. As much fun as it would be to dress Sly up as Cloud; I ultimately decided on my second favorite Final Fantasy on the PlayStation; that being IX. Carmelita dances around Sly's advances as Garnet did with Zidane. But here she seems more disgustedly annoyed as she leans on her magic staff: which kind of looks like a huge lollipop. XD

So is there an instance here where Carmelita is willingly happy with Sly? Well of course; when she's got him cornered pointing a gun at his face.

So comes our final scenario from the game Metal Gear Solid. We have Sly cooper dressed up as Solid Snake and Carmelita as Meryl Silverburgh. How appropriate since there is no doubt in my mind that Metal Gear solid helped play a huge role in influencing the development of the Sly Cooper series. And doesn't Carmelita look both tough and sexy in Meryl's outfit? Of course Sly's been caught; as indicated by that classic red exclamation point above his head. (Synth sound queue included.) But Sly doesn't seem the least bit concerned. I'm sure he's got another trick up his sleeve. Though the box he initially hid under (like Snake did) won't work anymore. XD

So there you have it; I had Sly and Carmelita dress up as the heroes from three of my favorite PlayStation titles. These are all good reasons why I still like Sony as a video game console maker after they brought us such great hits in the past; and hopefully will continue to do so.
