Doghouse of Horror IV

A little bit overdue for Halloween, but "Day After" ain't bad considering how busy I was.

Every year I try to keep a tradition going. Sadly I wasn't able to get my 'Queen of Summer' tradition going this year due to unexpected contingencies. And I narrowly missed out on my 'Doghouse of Horror' tradition due to preparing for my departure. But luckily after everything got squared away; I finished it. And now here it is again. We're now at Four 'Doghouse of Horror' terror trilogies now. Even if my love for TUFF Puppy has kind of waned; I still love doing these and continuing them. Although like 'Simpsons Halloween Specials'; am I eventually going to run out of ideas?

Maybe. That's where a few of you can come in. You're free to submit story ideas to me. In fact two of this year's story ideas came from other deviants who suggested them to me.
But; there ARE guidelines to follow as per tradition I do keep these rules in my mindset:

RULE 1: NO original or fan characters. UNLESS....It's specifically written for this particular story.
RULE 2: All three stories follow this structure: First story features Kitty, Second Story features Dudley, and the Third story can feature any other character in the TUFF universe good or bad.
RULE 3: It needs to be kept scary at a PG level...PG-13 at most. No outward blood, gore, sex, nudity or swearing. We're not trying to be edgy here. I'm trying to keep it like it's slated to be on the show.
RULE 4: Not a high priority but something to consider....The title of your story should be something "Pun" related as 'The Simpsons' do it for their stories....For the most part.

OK, now that my hard ass has set these rules you're now free to send me your ideas for next year's TUFF Horror stories and I'll decide if they're good enough to be on Doghouse of Horror V.
In the meantime....Here's IV.

The title card once again shows Lady Malmsteen being the Master of Ceremonies for the Terror Trilogy. But here she's grandstanding as one of the great masters of introducing suspenseful stories and odd tales...Rod Serling. (Minus the cigarettes. My Lady may be evil but she thankfully doesn't smoke.) And yes; this whole title card is a parody of 'The Twilight Zone'; complete with starry background and the "dimension" spiral. "A dimension not of sight or sound nor of mind....yada yada yada...."
But the parody doesn't end there. Amidst the images falling into the tunnel are various TUFF characters reenacting certain famous episodes from 'The Twilight Zone.' For most people, these are episodes they remember or are referenced in various pop culture gags. In fact; I think 'The Simpsons' parodied a few of these for their own Halloween specials too.
Among the most well known is 'Nightmare at 20,000 Ft.' Instead of an overly dramatic Shatner, it's an overly dramatic Snaptrap. And instead of a gremlin menacing him through the plane window; it's Larry out for revenge. Larry makes for a perfect gremlin I think. XD
Below this reference is a reference to another famous 'Twilight Zone' episode: 'Eye of the Beholder.' I won't spoil the twist in this one if you haven't seen it; but let's just say instead of Donna Douglas; it's Kitty underneath those bandages.
Onto our right is one of my all time favorite episodes: 'Time Enough at Last.' Keswick plays Burgess Meredith's role as the bank teller who survived a nuclear explosion and is the last mean standing with all the free time to read all the books he wants. That is....until his glasses break. Poor Keswick experiences the same trauma here.
And finally underneath Keswick is a reference to the episode 'Talking Tina'; where an evil doll torments an uncaring father. In this instance it's Dudley being tormented by a Phonics Fox doll; which isn't too far off from the TUFF episode 'Quack In The Box' as well as when 'The Simpsons' parodied it with an evil Krusty doll in 'Clown Without Pity.'

OK those references out of the way; let's get to the stories themselves.

Story one features Kitty naturally, but also features a previous villain: RITA. Somehow her cybernetic consciousness came from the depths of Lake Petropolis to take control of the TUFF Mobile with poor Kitty trapped in it to carry out her new rampage. I'm pretty surprised how frightening I made the possessed TUFF Mobile look!! O.o The title itself is a pun on the name of the rock band 'Death Cab for Cutie.'

The second story was submitted to me by :iconwindycitypuma:. In the spirit of the video game series 'Five Nights at Freddy's' (which I have yet to play); we get 'Five Nights at Quacky's.' I instantly loved the idea; Dudley working in a Quacky themed restraint filled with evil possessed animatronics. And yeah some of those Quacky animatronics with some of the show's characters look pretty intimidating. I mean lookit the Counting Cougar one! Dang! Again; sort of also taking the idea from 'Quack in the Box'; which also happens to be one of my favorite 'TUFF Episodes.'

The third story was submitted by :iconmangymeerkat:. Finally, a horror story featuring FLOPP. And it's a classic horror story at that! They find an abandoned area in the woods: classic! We got a mysterious hooded figure stalking them; check! And we got the coward of the group trying to muster his courage to save his friends from this supernatural foe! All there for the great 'Camp Horror Story come to life.' Yeah the title isn't really a pun on anything, but it is fun to say!

So Happy Belated Halloween! Hope you got some good scares and some nice treats! I'll see you all soon in November!
