Its Ah Isabella
I unlocked her in CTR Nitro-Fueled and the tweet about her by her VA is correct. Isabella is most certainly Italian.
It's funny. When I first heard her before unlocking her she sounded a bit French to me. Plus, I don't know many blonde Italians either.
But then again I don't know many Italian bandicoots either so....XD
Isabella's name is the only thing that indicates to me she's Italian before hearing the full accent.
But it does suit her well so I'm cool with it. X3
But it got me wondering why not a French accent? I figure since given the racing nature of the game and where Monaco is located; French might've suited her better.
I mean sure there are Italian racers.....and not just in real life.
Could it also be possible her accent is a sly allusion to the franchise that inspired Crash Team Racing from the beginning?
That's right....I am of course referring to Mario Kart.
That's when it hit me that perhaps other than her name, her accent might also pay a slight tribute to the Mario Kart franchise.
So I drew her introducing herself at the race track: "It's Ah-Me Isabella!"
Right next to the character who coined that phrase; Mario himself. Right next to him is his brother Luigi and another racer with a similar name to Isabella...Isabelle from Animal Crossing AND Mario Kart.
This would be the grandmother of all crossovers. Mario Kart VS Crash Team Racing. All games are available for Nintendo Switch. So why not make it happen?
Activision is most likely the reason why. They're also the reason you won't see Crash Bandicoot in Super Smash Bros. They just want too much money it seems.
So Mario Kart VS CTR will most likely never happen. Well...not anytime soon. I mean eventually we had Mario VS Sonic...though that was just Olympics. We haven't seen Mario Kart VS Sonic Racing either.
Then again in this day and age, never say never. Things could change over time.
With the N Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled being gigantic successes; who knows where Crash will head to next now that he has new life breathed back into him.
I apologize if I am not quite used to drawing Isabella's new design and that she still looks a little bit like Tawna still.
She was still fun to draw. And I hope to draw Liz, Megumi and Ami soon too.
The girls are back and better than ever!! Mama mia! X3

USA Women's Team Wins FIFA World Cup
So the 2019 Women's FIFA World Cup comes to a close.
USA 2 and Netherlands 0.
I already promised regardless who won I would draw a picture. Even if the Netherlands had won I woulda drawn a picture too.
Rather than depict the Netherlands being down like my previous pictures representing other countries; I had Verona's own Abigail congratulate the US Women's Team. Truth is only my other girls from other countries feel the sting of defeat. It's like they compete with each other for their creator's affection. XD
Well chalk that up as another major victory for the women's team in world football. (The men's not so much....)
Val's our Gal (Valerie Quinn) on the left realizing the political significance of this win gives a "Right on!" fist in the air salute.
Ruthinator (Ruth Campbell) and Sharon the Merican (Sharon Nicole Ken) hold the World Cup trophy aloof and share in the spoils.
And Lolageddon (Lola Henderson) creates a magical rainbow of happiness to commemorate the win!
In the end I had all four of my girls representing the US.
Well done once again Team USA!! ;D

It takes a while as I just got off both my physical exam and class. Plus my laptop runs on limited power and is a lot slower these days. Got I need my PC back. xx
But I LOVE doing this!
Can't wait till it's all rendered.
And after it's completed we'll move onto the X Series and I'll do polls on the Mavericks.

Robot Masters Poll Winners Progress Render
A progress render on my Poll Winners for the Mega Man Robot Masters.
Robot Masters from Mega Man 1-7 colored.
The insane amount of detail that went into Slash Man XD
Surprisingly Napalm Man turned out to be among the best here.
Sorry this is taking so long and I put aside other projects to finish it. Working twelve hour shifts all throughout the week can have an affect on an artist. ![:P (Lick) :P]()

But rest assured....by the end of this week the pic will be ready!
Then we can move onto Maverick polling. ;D

Robot Masters Poll Winners
Took me all week to complete this. Darn twelve hour shifts. XD
But finally I completed the Poll Winners pic of my Favorite Robot Masters Poll I held back in June.
For those who missed it, I conducted a poll for people to vote for their favorite Robot Master from Mega man 1-11, Mega Man V on Gameboy and Mega Man & Bass.
And yes; Robot Masters only.
I will be conducting polls for the Mavericks from the X Series soon enough. ;D
But in the meantime, let's go over each poll winner and my thoughts on them.
We begin from left-to-right; top-to-bottom.
Elec Man (Mega Man 1) - The basic of the basic in Robot Master design, the first Mega Man is still fun to play. But it feels so old it feels close to outdated; especially given how far the series has progressed. It's still a classic, but it's lifeless color palette was only improved upon in it's sequel which we will get to very soon. But as far as Elec Man goes, he won the poll most likely because of his weapon. The Thunder Beam is absolutely ruthless and brutal. Not to mention when Elec Man uses it against you, it'll rip you to pieces too. So as far as bosses go, Elec Man was the hardest of the Robot Masters from Mega Man 1. And that game was hard enough already. XD Like I said, a very basic design but having his fists clenched producing electricity ready to tear the Blue Bomber to shreds at least makes him stick out. His stage theme also sticks out as it suspiciously sounds familiar to the Journey song 'Faithfully.'
Metal Man (Mega Man 2) - Mega Man 2. What an improvement from it's predecessor! To this day it is considered still the best (or one of the best) in the Mega Man franchise. Oh I definitely love it too! It's soundtrack was among the most memorable. And so is our winner of the poll for Mega Man 2 Robot Masters: Metal Man! Is it his menacing design that had him win? His stage theme? Phhht....we know why he won the poll. He won because of the weapon you get from him. The Metal Blade is hands down the best weapon in Mega Man history. Most of us know why: it cuts through virtually everything, you'll hardly ever run out of ammo for it, and it fires in multiple directions! This is why many people go straight to Metal Man as their first boss. Honestly; you want this weapon. It's OP as heck. XD And it's really not that hard to obtain as the boss battle with Metal Man isn't really hard at all with the normal arm canon. I drew Metal Man proudly displaying his Metal Blades. Yeah....he seems to be saying. You know you want these babies!!
Shadow Man (Mega Man 3) - The poll nearly ended in a tie. It was between Shadow Man and Snake Man. In the case that I had polls ending in a tie; I would cast my vote as the tie breaker. In the end it was gonna be for Shadow Man. But as I checked back to my previous polls, I found someone voted for him too putting him over Snake Man. So I took that as a sign he'd be the Robot Master to represent Mega Man 3. (Which is sometimes my favorite Mega Man...sometimes not. XD) And why not? He's a robot AND a ninja! A ninja robot! You know even if people take the two words and fangasm over it; yeah it still sounds cool. XD He's also among the most challenging of the Robot Masters in the game. I mean his weakness is the worst weapon in Mega an history: the Top Spin. How about that? From the coolest weapon in Mega Man history (The Metal Blade) to the worst weapon in Mega Man history (The Top Spin.) Mega Man 3 really did a balancing act here. On that note; his Shadow Blades also work like Metal Blades but run out of ammo faster and don't cut through most everything. I decided to give him a ninja scarf here and cover his mouth while in a ninja stance ready to throw his Shadow Blades at the inexperienced. I mean either you use the Top Spin against him or not, he's one tough SOB.
Pharaoh Man (Mega Man 4) - This was another close call; coming between Pharaoh Man and Skull Man. Skull Man is one of the coolest looking Robot Masters ever! But there's a certain elegance and flare to Pharaoh Man that was just enjoyable to draw. So in the end the mighty Pharaoh Man conquered the polls. I did more than just use his game counterpart. Given he is acting lordly and overlordish; I also gave him the green cape he wore in the Ruby Spears Mega Man cartoon. Love or hate that cartoon, the cape did make Pharaoh Man appear more lordly as he should. Was listening to Iron Maiden's 'Powerslave' while drawing him to give him that robot god complex and get into that Egyptian mood. I imagine his voice being echoey and omniscent as he summons the wrath of Anubis onto those who challenge him. Hmmm...a robotic Anubis would be cool. Perhaps for a jackal Maverick in a Mega Man X game; provided there isn't one already in some of the other handheld Mega Mans I'm not fully aware of. XD
Napalm Man (Mega Man 5) - Admittedly the designs of Mega Man 5's Robot Masters didn't really grab me. Even when Napalm Man won the poll, I admit I wasn't too excited drawing him. He looks like a Metal Gear at a Pride Parade. (Nothing against gays mind you; just tongue-in-cheek humor.) But as I finished drawing him in his powerful pose and then rendered him I was surprised. He's actually one of the better looking Robot Masters here. He definitely turned out way better than Shadow Man did. I dunno how that worked out but it did and I'm proud for a Robot Master from a Mega Man game I don't remember that fondly to turn out as good as I expected. Because other than his awesome design, his weapon the Napalm Bomb really isn't that cool. Well...it's better than Charge Man's weapon The Charge Kick anyway. I guess this is why Mega Man 5 never stuck out to me. No Robot Master had as cool or useful a weapon that stuck out to me. (Though Gravity Man's weapon was kinda cool.) But hey; sometimes the one Robot Master you least look forward to making turns out looking among your best. So at least there's that.
Knight Man (Mega Man 6) - This game is a step up from 5 in terms of Robot Master design. I mean there were plenty of colorful Robot Masters to choose from no matter how ridiculous looking many of them were. I mean Blizzard Man was a snowball on skis for crying out loud. It came down to West VS East as Knight Man and Yamato Man vied for the top spot. Now normally Yamato Man would win because his weapon is Knight Man's weakness. But somehow, the noble Knight Man won in the polls and is now representing the Robot Masters from Mega Man 6. I was deciding if I should draw the chain connected to his morningstar weapon (The Knight Crush). Chains as it turns out are a huge pain the butt to draw. I learned that with the Belmonts for my Smash Bros .project. So I kept his Knight Crush locked and loaded in his arm canon. It still looks pretty good as it looks like Knight Man is challenging the Blue Bomber to a duel. "Have at you!!!"
Slash Man (Mega Man 7) - And another tie came into play. This time it was a tie between Slash Man and Shade Man. Now I REALLY wanted to do Shade Man. A vampiric Robot Master living in a castle full of spooky themed robots. Ooohhh...like Robot Castlevania. His design was sick too!! Awesome wings!! In the end it was another case of me rechecking the polls to see if the tie was broken and I would vote for Shade Man. Turns out it was broken again as one more vote put Slash Man over the time. So in the end I drew Slash Man. And boy talk about detailed. EXTREMELY detailed. His hair, the claws on his hands and feet, the arrows. Some details went missing and were added in later. Like I didn't know he had a robo goatee spike on his chin. Yeah this beast (literally) took some to draw and render. I wonder why people picked him over Shade Man. Probably because Slash Man lived in a dinosaur themed area and people love dinosaurs. Well Slash Man is cool too and still fun and challenging to draw. So it still turned out alright in the end. ;D
Sword Man (Mega Man 8) - AND the same scenario happened here with Mega Man 8 that happened in Mega an 7's poll. It came down between Sword Man and Tengu Man. Now because I love Japanese mythology; I was gonna vote for Tengu Man to break the tie. But once I looked back, someone voted Sword Man to put him in the top. Sword Man it was then. Which also came out pretty good if I do say so myself. I made him take a proud stance as he leans against his arm sword. He's also one of the few Robot Masters to be separated into a top and bottom half. So his design was till unique enough to where I wasn't disappointed to have to draw him. What I especially liked was how the details on his sword came out. The Ancient Runes on his sword (which mean nothing; they're just nonsense scribbled on it) took two tries to make it look good. On the second try it came out a lot better and I went with it. Once more adding the shine to make his sword stick out also helped. Mega Man 8 may not be among my favorite Mega Man titles; and it's soundtrack is pretty tepid. But Sword Man was at least a solid entry to draw as he's one of the few goofy Robot Masters from the game you could take seriously.
Splash Woman (Mega Man 9) - So far we had quite a few polls that were ties almost resulting in me being the tie breaker. But with Mega Man 9, it was no contest. Splash Woman absolutely dominated the poll! Yep, the Robot Master Waifu of so many people's eyes won the Robot Master poll for 9 hands down. You can't argue with laws of nature when you're the only female Robot Master in the roster. This unfortunately meant Galaxy and Tornado Man never stood a chance. But Splash Woman was still a lot of fun to draw. Her fishy tail, her trident and even her helmet. So much detail goes into this catch of a Robot Master. ;3 It was my pleasure to draw a lovely robot lady. X3 Mega Man 9 is among my favorite in the series. It actually stands toe-to-toe with Mega Man 2 in my opinion. And Splash Woman being the only female Robot Master we have had so far will always be among the many reasons it will be remembered so fondly. Really liked how she turned out here. Hope you do too. ;3
Nitro Man (Mega Man 10) - Mega Man 10 was a real fun game. But as the follow-up to Mega Man 9, it was a bit shallow by comparison. There wasn't as colorful a Robot Master lineup. But...there was Sheep Man. XD With Wooloo becoming a popular figure in the Pokemon world recently, I figured a sheep-based Robot Master was gonna win. And indeed he was dominating the poll listing and I felt for sure he'd be the one I would end up drawing. That would been cool. But the polling favored Nitro Man in the end. Well....alright. XD I mean he's still cool given he's a Robot Master that can transform into a motorcycle. He's not the first speed charged Robot Master to transform. Turbo Man from 7 could change into a race car after all. It woulda been nice to draw Sheep Man; I'm just saying. ;D But hey Nitro Man still turned out pretty cool here. So again, no worries. ;D
Tundra Man (Mega Man 11) - The recent Mega Man 11 had some interesting Robot Masters. Among them; Block Man, Acid Man and Bounce Man were the ones I was hoping I would get to pick from to draw. But the people decided on Tundra Man. I figured his sick looking crystal ponytail and ice skating flare was among the reasons he was picked. But it was brought to my attention that maybe Else from Frozen was the reason people picked him. That I don't know about because it did not once cross my mind. I didn't actually think of Frozen when I played Mega Man 11. I'm not sure the people who designed him thought Elsa either. Because of the ponytail and his snow powers I guess you could think that. But I honestly thought people chose him because of design. Notta bad design either ya know. I have him taking a bow for a graceful performance. The Mega Man series has seen it's fair share of "fabulous" Robot Masters. I say of all the Robot Masters, Tundra Man is the most fabulous one I've drawn here. ;D
Terra (Mega Man V for Gameboy) - With Mega Man 1-11 behind us, we look at the most unique Mega Man entry for the original Nintendo Gameboy. His previous adventures of the handheld had him go against old Robot Masters from previous Mega Man games. It was Mega M an V that finally had him go against new ones; all of which took the aliases of the planets. From Mercury to Pluto (which was still considered a planet around the time this game came out.) But in the end, their leader Terra (Earth) became the dominant one in the polls. There are plenty of reasons why he would be number 1. First, he is one of the few Robot Masters to truly best Mega Man in combat. Secondly, he just looks awesome with that wild green hair. And third, anyone instantly think DragonBall Z when looking at him? I do not doubt the creators of Mega Man games take some inspiration from the DragonBall Z series. But Terra is straight up DBZ inspired to a T. Hence why I have him standing like this. He looks like a cross between Vegeta and Radditz here. Vegeta in particular comes to mind as someone who can best Mega Man himself. Although I think of Bass usually as Mega Man's answer to Vegeta. And speaking of which....
Magic Man (Mega Man & Bass) - Finally we get to the final Mega Man game I considered for this series of Robot Masters polls. There were a couple of obscure ones I missed; plus I didn't include Time or Oil Man from the PSP remake of Mega Man 1. But to finish it out strong I chose Mega Man & Bass for Gameboy Advance. Actually it was originally released in Japan as Super Nintendo's last known game; as late as 1998 if I'm not mistaken. The winner of the poll was Magic Man. There he was just standing at the bottom all his lonesome. There were thirteen Robot Masters total; and four Robot Masters per row. I chose this for spacing reasons. But to fill in the empty space that occupied Magic Man, I decided to be a bit more creative with this endeavor. Given his magic theme and the fact his shoulder pads are a deck of cards; I created a deck of cards magically produced by Magic Man himself. And each card has a picture of a Mega Man character on it. Joker - Auto. Jack - Protoman. Queen - Roll. King - Mega Man. And Ace - Bass. I think the Ace card has two musical references. One being the musical group 'Ace of Bass' and the other being the song 'The Ace of Spades' from Motorhead. (the latter of which is freaking sweet!) Mega Man is full of musical allusions. His name is Rock Man in Japan, and his dog is named Rush for crying out loud. XD I think Magic Man produced a Royal Flush. Remember, the Joker card can be used to create a 10 of Spades here. ;D
And there you have it. The Poll winners of the Original Mega Man games.
Hold on tight cause soon I will be making a poll for the Mavericks from Mega Man X-X8.
A bit shorter I admit. If anyone can suggest another Mega Man game with unique Mavericks in it I will consider it.
Though to even things out and since those Mavericks are insanely detailed; I think X-X8 is enough.....for now.
I think there's rumor Mega Man X9 is in development. Ooohh....does that meant we might get a lady Maverick?? :3 I already had ideas for one.....or two. X3

Marvel vs Capcom 2 Party Night
For the tribute to Sega's final console, I chose Marvel vs Capcom 2. Not only my favorite Dreamcast game but also my favorite arcade game in general.
Even to this day I consider it the best in the Marvel VS Series.
Sure Marvel vs Capcom 3 had Deadpool, Dante and even added my man Jedah to the mix.
But the more realistic graphics and balanced gameplay take a bit away from the craziness that was Marvel vs Capcom 2.
The fact Marvel vs Capcom 2 is one of the most broken fighting games ever is why it's so much fun.
Also their sprite artwork is some of the best ever in their traditional 2-D fighting games.
For this picture I had five of the characters from the game's gigantic roster having a party night playing Marvel vs Capcom 2. Or maybe they're playing Power Stone. I figure the stars of their own games would get tired of it now and then and wanna try something else.
But for the sake of this tribute, let's just say Marvel vs Capcom 2 is what they're playing.
The players in question are the cactus monster Amingo and the female pirate captain Ruby Heart. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the only game they have ever been as full fledged fighters. I THINK they might've been cards also in that Capcom card game for the WonderSwan but I need to check the Fighters Generations web site again on that.
I heard these two were slated to be future new characters for a new Darkstalkers game way back when. But unlike Street fighter, Darkstalkers didn't quite catch on in the States at the time. But I guess Capcom liked them enough to where they decided they were unique enough to be exclusive characters for the Marvel vs Capcom 2 game. Yo know, exclusive amidst the other Capcom classics and Marvel heroes and villains.
This is also the second time I drew Amingo. I guess he got pulled out of retirement to have a nice party night with some old friends.
This still being one of my finest pictures I ever did for any of the Game-ArtHQ tributes.
So Amingo and Ruby Heart are enjoying some nice one-on-one with their own Dreamcast.
But who should be cheering them on in the background but Jill Valentine, Cable and Venom.
Yeah I never used Amingo or Ruby Heart. But Cable, Venom and Jill Valentine were always the ones I picked. They were my main team whenever I played this game.
I mean Cable just messes shit up with his Hyper Beams and Venom's been a favorite of mine to use ever since the early Marvel vs Capcom titles. Jill was more or less for balance, plus I loved the sprite work they did with her. And it's classic Resident Evil 1 Jill Valentine how I like her. Not blondie from RE5 whom Capcom decided to put in Marvel vs Capcom 3. ![:P (Lick) :P]()

Yeah I wanted to be fair. XD I couldn't have my team just be Cable, Ice Man and Juggernaut. Didn't wanna be a total cheap ass. XD
Anyways these three are enjoying some pizza while watching Amingo and Ruby Heart playing. Jill looks like she's trying to give Ruby some gaming advice but Ruby looks too intensely focused on the TV screen to notice. Cable and Venom silently look one as they each take a bit out of their pizza slices. It'll take more than a slice to satiate Venom. XD
It was a pleasure but a lot of work to do to. I know Jill looks a bit too small and Cable a bit too big. But ah well I still like how it ultimately turned out.
Amingo, Ruby Heart and Jill Valentine belong to Capcom
Cable (X-Men) and Venom (Spider-Man) belong to Marvel

Are The Ladys Best Days Behind Her?

August 2019-Lady Malmsteen Midna
July has ended leaving behind that zany coony girl Lola Henderson as Rosalina from the Mario series.
We now enter August where we take a look at the other major flagship Nintendo series that is 'The Legend of Zelda.'
And it seems I threw another curveball in which character I choose to represent the months.
That curveball comes in the form of the curvy Lady Elizabeth Tepes Malmsteen.
I know what you're thinking. One; shouldn't she represent October? Her birthday after all is Halloween.
Yes that's true. I got another calendar project going on at FA where different girls represent each month. She's been slated for October in that one.
But you know who's birthday is in August? Mine. XD Heck I marked it on my calendar. A bit much on my end? Perhaps.
But it is my calendar project. Plus from what I checked there aren't any major holidays (major like Fourth of July or Christmas) during the month of August.

Plus I'm the one who created her. If I wasn't born she most likely wouldn't have been born. XD And since she's pretty much my flagship character, she represents me and thus represents my birthday as well.
And another thing; why 'The Legend of Zelda?' Why not other more gothic themed video games series like Castlevania or Darkstalkers?
Yes that's another curveball I threw. I did indeed draw her as Morrigan from Darkstalkers before. I liked to experiment with different characters as my own characters to dress as. Although this calendar series started out with Mai Ling as Chun Li; it kept getting more and more different as I went along. I felt like I wanted to experiment more.
So that being said, how come Midna from The Legend of Zelda?
I just think she somehow fits Lady Malmsteen very well. I mean I have her in her imp form right now as I couldn't fit her true form (spoiler BTW) in the pic as well. Midna also with those wide hips, fanged mouth and pointy ears also looks a bit like a mini Malmsteen. She also shares Lady Malmsteen's attitude I think; so playful and sarcastic.
Plus Midna like Lady Malmsteen is a ruler of her own people and her own realm. At least she was until she was ursurped and is using Link as a means to get her back on the throne.
And that's where the other element of this pic comes into play; Dudley Puppy as Wolf Link.
It's hard to imagine someone like Dudley who is so loud to be a silent hero like Link. But in wolf form as it was in the game at times, he looks pretty good. XD Although he isn't sure what to make of the mocking Midna in the form of Lady Malmsteen.
Maybe when I do a recap of the girls I used this year and redraw each of them as the video game characters they represent I'll draw her true form as well.
I wonder if I'll stick with the orange hair though. XD
So who's going to represent October then if not The Lady? You'll see. ;3 And when I do it'll actually make sense.
I hope you all find ways to enjoy the last leg of your summer vacation which is what August seems to be for many of you. XD
Midna and Wolf Link belong to Nintendo
Dudley Puppy belongs to Nickelodeon

ART CHALLENGE: Solid Snake
Oh I hope I made it in time before heading out on my vacation in the Netherlands. XD
The challenge was to draw one of my favorite characters. Of course it focused on video game characters. But it could really be any character so long as they appeared in game one way or another.
But naturally I chose a video game character.
I chose the legendary soldier himself Solid Snake from the legendary game Metal Gear Solid.
Snake even to this day is awesome. I remember first taking him on what I can only describe as "The MOST Dangerous Covert Espionage Mission Ever."
Snake was sent to stop a nuclear threat within 24 hours or so all while avoiding armed guards, coming across insanely powerful members of Fox-Hound, having to stop Metal Gear REX all his lonesome (With a little assistance from Grey Fox) AND finding out the whole thing was orchestrated by his twin brother Liquid.
And at the end of the day he and Meryl (or Otacon) ride off on a snowmobile with Snake pondering his fate when he is hit with another double wammy in the form of FOXDIE.
And this was all within one day. One day with this many elements working against you. It's a good thing Snake is so bad ass he can handle this situation with only showing mild concern or genuine grief if someone close to him dies.
This pic shows Snake emerging from his only safe haven: the infamous cardboard box. With that cold stare and the barrel of his pistol staring you down you gotta wonder what you did to deserve the legend to point his weapon at you?
Simple really. He's tired of all those "Snake!? SNAAAKKKEEEE!!!" comments. XD
So anyone who posts another one of those comments on this pic; it's GAME OVER for you. ;3
Solid Snake belongs to Hideo Kojima. (I'll be damned if I give Konami anymore credit.)

CTR Crashcorner Race
This was something I meant to do with the Crash Bandicoot re-releases ever since the N Sane Trilogy.
And that was draw characters from the first fandom I was ever a huge part of.
Some of you might be surprised how far back this fandom went.
Crashcorner/Crashcorner2 was a Crash Bandicoot Fan Forum dating as far back as 1998.
I joined around that time and had been active (and a head admin) over there until 2002.
Afterwards Deviantart came into existence and had become my art home ever since.
Yes....I am THAT old. XD And many of these Original Characters you see are older than many of the other ones I would create later.
Which one is mine you ask?
The fox in the blue karate gi riding the red kart. Ya know..the one who TOTALLY isn't a rip-off of Ryu. XD His name is Shen Lo Ken. He was my main and most well known OC back in the days of Crashcorner. You might say he was what Lady Malmsteen was to TUFF Puppy on my end in terms of fandom.
I hadn't really developed much of him since then: other than him being an honorable warrior with a lot of emotional baggage.
But I would really like to bring him back. I still consider him my flagship character in the Crash fandom; which I may or may not get active in again.
(I actually developed a more detailed background story for him over the years.)
Now let's describe the other ones.
Two of these characters next to Shen belong to creators that I know are still active here on Deviantart.
Both of these creators I knew since the days of Crashcorner; and it's really nice to know they're still active artwise working on their own things.
Some of which I still keep active with on Discord.
The final two further right are from artists I also knew from Crashcorner.
We have the yellow dingo girl Danni Dingo created by Crashcorner member Shaz aka
. Danni was a very popular OC in the Crashcorner community. She was a real fun character for both her creator and others to use in fan fics/fan art. Looks like she's got a surprise for the other racers.

(Oh who's gonna get the hot end of that Bowling Bomb?)
The last OC present is the dark furred bobcat girl Sarnie Bobcat. She's the one in the blue kart gone airborne launching a green beaker which will hopefully connect with any of the lead racers. (They're at least slightly more useful than Nitro or TNT boxes.)
She belongs to cheriestar
. Like Shaz she was a prominent member of Crashcorner as well. Sarnie and Danni were close friends/rivals in the fandom.

So were Shen and Vector. These two gotta beautiful bromance going on. XD
Some of the members like I mentioned I still am in touch with.
Others have gone their own way but I'm sure are still doing good.
I guess for a long time ever since the release of N Sane Trilogy I been meaning to draw some of the earliest OCs I knew from my early days of internet and fandom.
Crash Bandicoot was a fun fandom to work with. But like most fandoms it had it's share of drama that turned people away. Drama and internet has always been around since its inception.
But now with CTR Nitro-Fueled proving to be another smashing success for Activision; I figured now was a good time to draw this other smashing blast from the past.
I don't expect all the creators o f these OCs to see this piece. Nor do I expect them to be revived since most of their creators moved onto other things.
But it's nice to look back at my origins and the origins of Crash Bandicoot at the same time.
Given CTR's ever growing roster of characters; it does make me wonder what it would be like if these Crashcorner OCs could be selectable racers. It would be so much fun. XD

PUFF - Paranormal Undercover Fighting Force
Without work getting in the way I have been catching up on a lot of ideas.
I do have commissions to get to and will indeed get to them.
Until then I have been exercising in character designs once again.
Here is an idea that has been in my head for years. Ever since the creation of Lady Malmsteen and her homeland of Petsylvania I been thinking about why TUFF never dealt with them much. (I mean before Lady Malmsteen's capers hit more to home and Dudley got involved.)
It's because elsewhere there was another crime-fighting agency keeping the undead and unholy creatures of Petsylvania in check so their unworldy forces do not reach beyond it's borders.
That would be the crime-fighting agency P.U.F.F.
It stands for Paranormal Undercover Fighting Force.
And like TUFF....it has it's own versions of Dudley, Kitty, Keswick and the Chief.
This...is intentional. Believe me, it's all part of the master plan.
I didn't just copy TUFF out of pure random. Nor do I bother creating these characters for the heck of it.
There IS a plan for them in the future once Lady Malmsteen and her romance with Count Dud-Ula takes fruition.
Until then, I'll make the introductions to the PUFF Team.
First there's Dr. Tullman. Dr. Tullaman is obviously the Keswick of the group. But unlike Keswick, his species is determined. He's a hedgehog. He specializes in developing equipment to measure paranormal activity and weapons to fight it. His specialty is ghosts and other poltergeist/spiritual phenomena. He is also a reference and tribute to Ghostbusters. His name is a portmanteau of Louis Tully and Dr. Vinkman. One being the helpless nerd who stunted as a ghostbuster in the sequel (Louis Tully). The other being the suave leader of the Ghostbusters (Dr. Peter Vinkman.) It's not hard to figure out there's more Tully in him. That's cause he's got Vinkman's intelligence but Tully's nerdiness and equally hard time with women.
Next we have the group's version of Kitty Katswell: Felina Fatalis. Her specialty is fighting werewolves and other werebeasts. She takes them on with specially made werewolf hunting guns and equipment as well as hand-to-hand combat. She is based of Selene from the Underworld series. Now obviously the question you'd be asking knowing that is like Selene is she also half-vampire? I haven't decided yet. But if she is, it'll make make for awkward chemistry with her partner who is a Vampire Hunter. Fortunately he's not a very smart Vampire Hunter as you'll find out.
Our Vampire Hunter in question is PUFF's version of Dudley Puppy: Simon Belmutt. He is a parody of Simon Belmont from the Castlevania series. He's also based more off of Simon Belmont from the Captain N cartoon; which was more of a parody of Castlevania than anything. But in that version's defense he seemed more dressed and equipped to fight vampires. The game's Simon had a leather mini skirt. XD And yet he was still way more bad ass. So why based Belmutt off of the Captain N version of Simon? Well he IS the Dudley of the group. He seems more akin to that Simon Belmont. XD He is pretty narcissistic and pretty dim. Probably even more dim than Captain N Simon. Like I mentioned earlier, his specialty is Vampires just like Castlevania Simon. But if his partner Felina is indeed half-Vampire he's too dim to realize it. I wonder if he ever found out though he would even try to hunt Felina. I doubt he would since he likes her too much...though not as much as himself. XD
Finally we have the leader of PUFF. The paranormal version of TUFF's The Chief. Only instead of a flea it is a wasp. A wasp by the name of Viktor Von Hellsting. (Or Hecksting given Nick's sensitivity towards children.) He is actually supposed to be based loosely off of classic horror actor Peter Cushing who played Hellsing in the Hammer films. He acts much like him and speaks in his mannerisms. (And maybe even a bit of Grand Moff Tarkin in that sense too in waiving around authority.) But on that note he is not evil nor does he have a sinister motive. And like The Chief he has a secret life he can't help but let loose from his lips from time to time. He specializes in all forms of paranormal activity and gives orders to his PUFF agents: mostly Felina, Simon and Dr. Tullman.
You will see these characters again in the future. I'm not just gonna create them and leave them to rot. Especially with Lady Malmsteen and her Petsylvania denizens involved.

Liquid Snake
I drew him coming off from drawing Solid Snake from a previous challenge.
Now the Twin Snakes are complete as a tribute to one of my all-time favorite games.
Added Metal Gear REX in the BG for added affect.

September 2019 - Tess Morblung Sniper Wolf
We had the unusual pick of Lady Malmsteen taking on the role of Midna from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess while Dudley was her Wolf Link.
This of course leaves some of you wondering who represents October if not her? You'll know soon enough. ;D
Until then, we now enter September and have a perhaps a more suitable yet not as expected pick.
I took my ever busty wolf character Tess Morblung and dressed her as Sniper Wolf from Metal Gear Solid.
So now Sniper Wolf is a literal wolf. I'm sure it's not the first time she's been drawn as one. XD
The month of September holds that day known as 'Patriot Day.' And how appropriate then to have Metal Gear Solid be the theme of September given the whole conspiracy involving 'The Patriots' as well as having the game title 'Guns of the Patriots.' Of course the game Sniper Wolf came from didn't even mention them; not until it's subsequent sequel.
I'm quite fortunate I came back just before Labor Day. I get some extra time off as I recover from jet lag and continue working on overdue projects.
This calendar project usually does take priority however since it requires meeting the deadline of the first day of the month. Hence why I won't be doing it again for a while. 2019 is the year I experimented with it to see if I could do this yearly. I doubt it. XD
But I hope you are enjoying this series so far. Tess looks fetching but also rather confident in her lose sniper outfit carrying her beloved sniper rifle by her side. She's usually more akin to using her electro-staff as an assassin. Her twin sister Tori is more of a gun nut.

The Bound Bovine COMMISSION
Once again Lady Malmsteen has been on one of her raids. She seems particularly fond of kidnapping
's cow characters.

She got her hands on Carla Brown Cow.
No The Lady doesn't have any "beef" with her....and no more beef jokes I promise. ![:P (Lick) :P]()

The Lady wants Carla's "knowledge" to help her in her scientific experiments.
But first...a little early experiment The Lady wishes to try on Carla herself.
She's getting out the bat phone and is going to smother Carla completely with kisses. Mouth gag on and all.
She even refers to Carla as her BSGFF. (Best Slave Girlfriend Forever.)
Oh I bet ya say that to all your captives Lady M. ![:P (Lick) :P]()

Carla is dizzy by the end of it all; not sure how to comprehend the lusty kisses of a four hundred year old vampire bat. And Lady M just proudly looks down at her phone at all the glamorous selfies she took.

Terry Bogard Strong-Arms Into Smash
It's been a while since I did one of these. I already let Joker, Piranha Plant and Chrom pass me by.
And recently Banjo-Kazooie and Hero from Dragon Quest.
Now I will eventually draw them. But I'm not going to let the recent announcement of Terry Bogard from SNK's 'King of Fighters/Fatal Fury' series pass me by.
It's a good follow-up to my previous entry with Ken Masters.
Now Mr. Masters has a chance for a do-over ever since he's humiliating defeat to Terry in one of the Death Battles. (Those really don't mean everything though BTW.)
I'm not sure if Terry Bogard was high on people's demand lists for his inclusion in Super Smash Bros. But I am sure King of Fighters as well as other SNK properties was among the requests.
There's also a Sans hat on a Mii fighter which also indicates he'll make it into Smash at a point too. Geez...how many MORE are they gonna add at this point!? XD
I guess it is Smash Ultimate in that the more they keep piling on in this game there's no point for another entry....until a new Nintendo console is made of course.
We also await the likes of Shantae to make it in there. But the likes of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro still seem remote as Activision wants too much money to license them.
I will try my hardest to finish off the current list of new comers; but it has been a long while since I have. XD Should at least say I plan on drawing Banjo-Kazooie next as he was recently added to the game a few days ago.
Also check out a few more of my previous entries for my Smash Art Prpject

Mavericks Poll Winners
A follow-Up to my Mega M an Robot Masters Poll Winners pic I did in July.
That covered the Classic Mega Man series: Covering Mega Mans 1-11, Mega Man V on Gameboy and Mega Man and Bass on Gameboy Advance.
Naturally what came next was the Mega Man X series and conducting a similar poll.
This time, it was for the Mavericks.
There were only two sources to pull Mavericks from: Mega Man X-X8 and Mega Man X Command Mission.
We have yet to receive a Mega Man X9. But given the resurgence of the Blue Bombers legacy with the Classic series proving to be successful; I am sure Capcom is considering a revival of that series too.
And in the fine tradition of Mega Man 9; it might mean we get a lady Maverick too. X3
But for now; here are the winners of the Mega Man X Mavericks Polls. Like the Robot Masters I will go over each one in descending order left to right.
So let's get started.
Storm Eagle (Mega Man X) - Not only was this the first Mega Man X game I played, but the first Mega Man game I played in the entire franchise. So this one is always a favorite of mine and the original is still fun to play. Sometimes I'll also bust out it's remake Maverick Hunter X. When the poll was conducted there was some touch choices to make. But in the end I had a feeling Storm Eagle was going to fly over the competition; which he did. His design is superb and his theme is freaking epic. A lot of the Maverick themes in Mega Man X were amazing; Spark Mandrill and Boomer Kuwanger's in particular. Many Mavericks were voted based on their stage themes. But Storm Eagle is awesome on both fronts and I wanted to draw him reflecting that grandeur of being awesome overall. (Despite the fact he's not that hard to fight.) The wings I am particularly happy with. Symmetry is not a strong point of mine. Neither is consistency. All those feathers to draw. Yet somehow I think I pulled it off nicely. I had a feeling Storm Eagle was also among the designer's favorites from the Capcom team. In Maverick Hunter he's shown to be honorable and regrettable having to fight against the Reploids and humans. He's just too cool a design to make a straight up bad guy.
Wheel Gator (Mega Man X2) - We started off with a bird and now we continue with a reptile. Mega Man X2 had it's share of oddball Maverick designs. Wire Sponge and Bubble Crab among them. The invertebrates didn't stand a chance against the three vertebrate Mavericks who were the top vote getters: Wheel Gator, Flame Stag and Overdrive Ostrich. Flame Stag was pretty rad in terms of design. Giant flaming antlers are epic. But the winner slunk his way into the top spot in the form of the snappy Wheel Gator. Like Storm Eagle, this fellow had a great amount of detail I tried my best to replicate. Let me tell you; going through multiple poses to find one that's just right isn't easy for a project like this. And further down the line you might see where I dropped the ball I bit. For Wheel Gator's complex design, I decided to make him look like he was on all fours. Like most Mavericks he usually stands upright; but he will crouch down and when in attack mode lunge at you like a real alligator/crocodile would. This is probably how he won over Flame Stag in that he has a feral quality to him that is true to his animal nature the Mavericks are based on. I'm glad though as he's light green and he helps contrast the other Mavericks in this piece to stick out more in a see of darker reds and blacks.
Neon Tiger (Mega Man X3) - There was no question this Maverick would be a top contender in the Mega Man X3 poll. But he ended up flooring the competition and coming out on top to rule the roost. There's many reasons to like Neon Tiger as a design. First off; he's a tiger. He's the first of the big cat designs for the Mavericks; which honestly there isn't a whole lot of. I imagine trying to make a cheetah or leopard Maverick would be a pain in the butt though given all those spots. Secondly are his large claws. His trademark neon-like claws really do stand out. I do hope I made that abundantly clear here in the pic. And third is his theme. Easily among my favorite of the themes from Mega Man X3. (Though the Opening stage themes for X and Zero, Toxic Seahorse and Gravity Beetle's themes are just as awesome too!) His theme has also prompted some people to compare it to the Guns N' Roses song 'My Michelle' as there are similar riffs in that song to the game's theme. The creator has since denied any similarities and I too believe it's just a coincidence. But this is definitely not the last time we will mention Guns N' Roses here. I gotta whole section on that when we cover Mega Man X5. XD But the creators of the X series (and Mega Man in general) are huge rock fans. In fact both Mega Man and X are called Rockman in Japan. So it's no coincidence that rock music influences both the themes and designs of these Mavericks.
Magma Dragoon (Mega Man X4) - For Mega Man X3, I had a feeling Neon Tiger would end up winning. But for X4, there was no question about it in my mind that Magma Dragoon was going to win. I held the poll regardless, but it seemed written in stone from the beginning that the dragon Maverick was gonna win this one. Well it's one thing to be a dragon and a robot at the same time. Truth is depending on your personality and other defining characteristics you could still lose to the likes of say...Web Spider for instance. Just because you're based off an awesome mythological creature and have an awesome design doesn't guarantee you a victory. (Blaze Heatnix in the X6 poll wasn't even close to being a top contender for example cause he's a jerk.) No; for Magma Dragoon he was guaranteed a win not only because he's a dragon and has an awesome design. But because he was also modeled after another legendary Capcom bad ass: Akuma from Street Fighter. The beads he wears around his neck are among the main indicators that he was based off Akuma. But Capcom took it even further and him doing moves that Akuma (as well as Ryu and Ken) do from Street fighter in having him fire Hadoukens and throw Shoryukens. (He even yells the names of the attacks.) You know hidden in Mega Man X is the ability to have X throw Hadoukens too; as well as in X2 where he can perform Shoryuken. But Magma Dragoon makes it awesome. The funny thing though is with X and the Double Cyclone, he's a total pushover. Sure with Zero even with his weakness he's a worthy opponent. But X makes this awesome Maverick look like a joke. However; like Storm Eagle this Maverick's sense of honor and enjoying a rivalry more than a political or larger agenda is another reason he endears to fans. His design reeks of cool and his moves putting one in mind of Street Fighter not only ensures his place in this Poll winners pic but on the top of many other Top Ten Mavericks lists as well.
Dark Dizzy/Necrobat (Mega Man X5) - Mega Man X4's poll was very predictable on who would win. The X5 poll on the other hand was very unpredictable. It came down between a bat and a rose. (Two things I am MORE than familiar with in my line of work with Lady Malmsteen. XD) The rose I mentioned is the Maverick Spike Rosered. I thought he would be a perfect representation of what Mega Man X5 is most famous for. He was indeed a top contender and for a moment he looked like he was gonna be drawn. He's my favorite plant design of all the plant Mavericks used in the series. But at the last minute, a vote was cast that put the bat Maverick Dark Necrobat at the top. So Rosered got trimmed and from here on out, no Maverick based on plants or other non-animal organisms would be represented. But other than being a solid design for a Maverick, the main reason I wanted Spike Rosered to represent more than Dark Necrobat is because of his American localized name. His localized name was Axle the Red. And Dark Necrobat's localized name is Dark Dizzy. What Mega Man X5 is best known for are the localized names of the Mavericks; all names derived from the band Guns N' Roses. Axle the Red would have been perfect as he is a rose and of course we know the band member's name is Axel Rose. Ah well, Dark Dizzy's design is still cool and of course I do like bat characters. ;D At this point this is the most dynamic pose I've done next to Storm Eagle. I think the winged Mavericks were given the most freedom to show off given their ability to fly. X3
Blizzard Wolfang (Mega Man X6) - Mega Man X6 has had it's share of criticisms. In particular the level designs. Then there's...Blaze Heatnix. He's a phoenix for crying out loud. Like Magma Dragoon his design alone should have made him a fan favorite. But no; his unlikable personality was among the reasons people despise him. He's not the last fire Maverick either to earn such a bad rap as you will soon find out. But if he had no competition with other solid Maverick designs he would have won the poll regardless. However, Blizzard Wolfang was among the contenders. And as it should have come to no surprise he utterly dominated this poll. Yes a simple wolf beats a mighty phoenix. XD Well Wolfang is still a cool design. And his tail makes him easily among the fluffiest of the Mavericks. Actually he reminds me a bit of Jon Talbain from the Darkstalkers series; another Capcom franchise. :3 He's not the only Maverick to have Blizzard as his first name. (There was Blizzard Buffalo.) It's at this point where the X series was beginning to slip. Depending on who you ask/argue with: this is either the point where you stopped liking or playing the series. Mega Man X6 was the last 2-D sprite-based X game before we entered that dreaded next step for all Mega Man fans....the third dimension. Honestly I wish Wolfie turned out a bit better here. I dunno why but I felt like I messed his design up a little. Like Zero I'm not sure why a robot needs something extra fluffy in terms of hair or a tail. Who makes these guys this way anyway? X3
Flame Hyenard (Mega Man X7) - Just as it was in Mega Man Legends (which DOES have its fans); Mega Man X stumbled into the third dimension. In fact for many people the X series fared worse in the third dimension. This might explain why Classic Mega Man's revival was easier and why we still haven't seen another entry in the X series for years. Not to mention it's easier to come up with Robot Masters than it is Mavericks. How many animals/plants, mythical creatures and other lifeforms can you come up with compared to wider variety of elements to attribute to Robot Masters? Well there's always something new: heck I've come up with my own line of Mavericks to hopefully show you all one day. At his point when they were thinking of their fire-based Maverick I think one designer asked "Have we used a hyena yet?""No" everyone responded. "Good, let's go with that" the designer responded. The result was Flame Hyenard. (The "Nard" portion of his name is appropriate.) Overall he's a pretty solid design. And how I drew him I'm surprised how well he turned out. I'm pretty pleased with it. But let's cut to the chase and describe why people don't like him: his voice. His American voice is beyond irritating. He was programmed to yell the same attack over and over again to a point where the Mute button is considered a blessing. It's just in 3-D X games fights take longer so you had to suffer through his ear-grating voice. (Or just switch it to his Japanese voice.) Still his competition wasn't stiff. Other designs competing against him included an onion. A damn onion. XD OK Tornado Tonion isn't a horrible design. But still, I'd rather draw the obnoxious hyena than the pudgy onion man. (Look for Onion Man in the upcoming Mega Man 12.....
)

Dark Mantis (Mega Man X8) - Once again the mediocre lineup of Mavericks for this next installment for Mega Man X8 didn't offer much competition to the cooler looking winning design. A dopey looking panda and a sunflower were among the roster. See what I mean about it being hard to come up with better Maverick designs? But in having Dark Mantis being declared the winner, something miraculous finally happened here. We now FINALLY have a Maverick based off an invertebrate to represent. Since the first Mega Man X game there's always been insects, arthropods, crustaceans, mollusks, plants and non-animal lifeforms as Maverick designs. But it seems people are so vertebrate-centrist given we as humans have a backbone. (Most of us anyway...) Spike Rosered would have been perfect to represent one plant Maverick in this roster. But no...someone wanted the bat. XD Of course Split Mushroom from X4 wasn't going to beat Dragoon. And Boomer Kuwanger wasn't going to top Storm Eagle's super design. (And not many people know what a Kuwanger is anyway without looking it up.) And even though X2 had five invertebrate based Mavericks; none of them topped the three vertebrate Mavericks. So throughout this whole list it seemed like only organisms with backbones would represent. Dark Mantis finally broke that trend. Basically he is like Boomer Kuwanger with arm blades. Also his skinny frame and overall sinister nature puts me in mind of another particular Mantis I encountered in video games. Only that one was a human, wore a gas mask and told me "I like Castlevania."
Ninetails (Mega Man X Command Mission) - The final entry in the Maverick Poll winners art piece is from a Mega Man X game I haven't played yet. Basically because upon it's release I gave up on the series. Everything after Playstation-era Mega Man X failed to capture my attention. 3-D Mega Man games I never really was a fan of because of how they controlled. From what I understand though; Command Mission is more a JRPG than it is an action game. OK; a Mega Man RPG COULD be cool. Mario did it and that turned out cool. I gotta say though; for certain characters I always attribute them with certain actions. Would you take someone like Kratos or Ryu from Street fighter and put them in a turn-based strategy game? Their flashy attacks might be cool to witness and I'm sure it would be creative. It's just in terms of gameplay I associate characters with certain movements. And like I mentioned before with Mario; Super Mario RPG was genuinely good. (I just prefer making Mario run and hop n stomp is all.) I'm the same with Mega Man. A JRPG sounds cool; but I prefer it be Classic or X Mega Man to run and shoot. It's just more stimulating to me and I'm always about familiarity in video games. But enough yapping; let's check out the Maverick who won. Our last entry is the only other Maverick on this list to represent a mythical beast. In this case, the nine-tailed Kitsune of Japanese legend. He is also one of the few Mavericks to break the trend of having a first name to describe his powers. He's simply referred to as Ninetails. He wasn't easy to draw mostly cause of his tails in the back. Although like Blizzard Wolfang you think they'd be...bushier. Oh well I think they wanted him to look more god-like here in terms of being a mythical based Maverick design. And they did succeed; I like his fox mask head. But if they ever do come out with a Mega Man X9; they really should consider another fox-based Maverick. In fact; if they do a female Maverick they should immediately think of making her a vixen. I in fact have one in mind I hope to show you all one day. May I find time and strength to introduce you to my own female Maverick Heat Vixen. :3 (Yes...she is a cutie. XD)
And with that, the two major Mega Man projects are done. I now have created two tributes to both the Robot Masters of the Classic series and the Mavericks of the X series.
Will I do anything like from the .EXE series? Chhh....no. XD I never played that series and there isn't a whole lot for me to work on there.
This is the last Mega Man -based tribute pic I do in this style where I ask people to select winners based off polling.
2019 is about a bunch of firsts and lasts. I was being particularly experimental this year.
Like the Robot Masters pic I did I m pretty proud on how this one turned out. They were more detailed than the Robot Masters and thus took more time to complete. But I rather it look right than come out rush and hopefully I succeeded.
